Restoration very often involves stone carving, where the job is not only to replicate what has been damaged or destroyed but to do so using the same stone and, as near as possible, carving technique.

Very often actually removing the damaged carving from its position, supporting what’s left and then putting into place the new carving, working to the nearest millimetre, is as demanding of our expertise and experience as the carving itself.
